Brian Sserunjogi

Brian currently works as a Research Fellow in the Macroeconomics department at the Economic Policy Research Centre, Makerere University. Prior to joining EPRC, he worked as Business Analyst with DFCU bank, Uganda in the Development and Institutional banking (DIB) department. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India.

His research interests are in the areas macroeconomic analysis, public sector management, public expenditure analysis and local economic development, financial sector performance and access to and use of financial services in Uganda. In his free time, he likes soccer and listening to music.

Topic: Alcohol Consumption among Youth in Uganda: Why Policy Intervention Is Necessary

This brief undertook a holistic review of the alcohol consumption dynamics in Uganda. Based on document review and secondary data analysis, the brief calls for urgent policy intervention to combat excessive and harmful consumption of alcohol in Uganda.
